The best places to visit in Bristol this Christmas!

It’s December 3rd which only means one thing… it’s nearly Christmas!! And to kick off the festive month, here are our best festive recommendations for Bristol!

We love Christmas! Putting up a tree, fairy lights all over the office and an excuse to eat whatever we want! It really is the best time of the year…

North Bristol Food Bank

This year, we wanted to do something for someone else too! We decided to get involved with the North Bristol Food Bank Reverse Advent Calendar. It is a really easy thing to get involved with and in an office environment you’ll be able to get lots of food donations together. It’s so worthwhile and great to know you’ll be helping other people out over the Christmas period! If you want to get involved too, you can follow the link here: https://northbristol.foodbank.org.uk/2018/11/09/reverse-advent-calendar-2018/. You’ve got until December 7th so there’s still time!

John Lewis

Yes, seriously! John Lewis is the perfect place to get you into the festive spirit. Their Christmas decorations are amazing and the whole shop is kitted out with twinkly lights. They’ve even got a build your own quality street box… so you can fill it with the chocolates your family eat instead of being left with the orange crème ones! Genius! You could spend hours in there (I did).

To see some real Christmas trees and pick yours out!

Is there anything better than a real Christmas tree?! Yes, they require hoovering daily, but the smell of a Christmas tree is super festive and one of the best. We can’t wait to put up our trees… stay tuned for pictures!

Après Bar

The pop up Après Bar, based in Millennium Square is unique, cosy and Christmassy. Their log burners and blankets will get you into the festive spirit for sure! We spent the evening of our Christmas party there last year… we’ve still been invited back so we can’t have been that embarrassing, and we had a great time! This year they’re even serving food so it’s worth heading there for dinner or a drink leading up to the festive season!

German Christmas Market

The German Christmas Market is back at Broadmead and Cabot Circus from November 9th – December 23rd with a variety of German and Christmas stalls. Perfect for little stocking fillers and lots of food! You’ll find me with some mulled wine, a bratwurst sausage and waffle in hand. This is one of my favourite places to visit on a weekday evening where it’s not too busy.

Winter Wonderland at Cribbs Causeway

The Winter Wonderland at Cribbs Causeway has something for the whole family! We visited the ice rink and it makes the cold weather worth it and somewhat magical whilst you’re skating. And it’s an excuse to warm up with a hot chocolate and marshmallows afterwards – win, win!
