Senior Claims Handler

  • Full time - Monday-Friday 35 hours per week
  • Part time - Monday-Thursday or Friday, 9:30am-2:30/3pm

Our client, a leading legal expenses insurance provider, is looking for someone with claims handling, case handling, or insurance experience to join their friendly team as a Senior Claims Handler.

You will be handling a variety of case types and providing a high-quality service to clients.

In return, you will receive a great salary and benefits, plus you’ll only work weekdays so no evenings or weekends! You will also have the opportunity for hybrid working following the successful completion of your 3-month probation – you can work from home up to 60% of the time.

Duties of a Senior Claims Handler will include;

  • Maintaining contact with clients throughout the process
  • Assessing and processing all claims in line with procedures and authority limits
  • Reviewing incoming instructions, identifying relevant issues, and assessing whether it’s a valid claim
  • Assessing liability and quantum for each case
  • Resolving claims through negotiation of settlement, rebuttal of claim, and/or declining of cover
  • Updating the case management system to ensure records are accurate
  • Working in partnership with law firms and other businesses/third parties
  • Working effectively with a key stakeholders and reporting on progress of a claim
  • Providing ongoing support to colleagues as required

Required skills and experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (e.g. claims, legal, insurance)
  • A qualification in a relevant subject is beneficial (e.g. law or insurance)
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, specifically MS Office
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
