Business Development Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving the growth of our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and business development, with proficiency in software tools and experience in tender processes.

A superb opportunity has been created with our client - a Building Services and Facilities Maintenance company based in North Bristol as they look to further grow their business.

Ideally, you’ll be from a similar sector and be hungry for success. You’ll be supported by the wider team and the Director and will have an open-ended portfolio of companies to prospect.

Reporting to the Director, you’ll take responsibility for new customers through the full business development cycle. This will cover prospect calls and information gathering, sending out promotional literature, generating appointments and conducting sales presentations.

You’ll be marketing the full range of services that the company offer, from building and construction through to facilities management and planned maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating and managing a prospect list of companies
  • Conducting information gathering calls and diarising regular contact to track competitor activity
  • Pursuing sales leads and building relationships with local businesses
  • Organising and meeting with prospect clients
  • Researching and understanding target markets and creating strategies to reach and convert clients
  • Dealing with senior group decision makers, procurement teams and tender processes.
  • Senior level approval as required.

Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous experience in and proven track record of successful developing business in facilities management, construction or similar setting
  • Experience of selling in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance and Small works projects would be beneficial
  • Understanding of costing and producing quotes, able to create tenders and push business over the line
  • Superb communication and teamwork skills; you’re the person that clients want to work with
  • Extensive experience in dealing with group level decision makers, procurement teams and tender processes.
