This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client’s friendly finance team! Our client is a well-known and successful Bristol organisation working in the construction sector, and you’ll be helping with the smooth running of the finance department.

If you have previous experience within an Accounts Assistant role and are keen to take on more responsibility and expand your knowledge, this could be the next challenge for you!

You’ll be supporting the Management Accountant with daily duties including payroll, liaising with customers and suppliers, and engaging with internal commercial teams.

Duties will include:

  • Managing the invoices inbox and categorising accordingly
  • Actioning customer queries in a timely manner
  • Inputting construction invoices into relevant systems including Sage
  • Checking supplier accounts for any missing statements and invoices
  • Actioning and completing debtor and creditor reconciliations
  • Preparing and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation and preparation of VAT returns
  • Running contact costing reports for distribution to commercial teams
  • Using reporting modules to draw down reports as required

About you:

  • Ideally have completed professional accounting qualification (payroll certificate or AAT etc)
  • Previous experience in a financial accounting role
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 software is ideal
  • Knowledge of management accounts preparation would be beneficial
